Pro tip: You can also install SaneCost directly from your browser or the Slack App Directory. The button is available from any page on sanecost.com.

02

Authorize the App

Slack will show you a permissions screen. SaneCost requests only the minimum permissions it needs to function properly.

SaneCost wants to access your workspace

SaneCost will be able to:

  • Post messages to channels it's invited to
  • Respond to slash commands (/sanecost)
  • Send interactive messages with action buttons
Allow

Workspace admin required? Some workspaces require admin approval for new apps. If you see a "Request" button instead of "Allow", your workspace admin will receive a notification to approve the installation.

03

Welcome Message

After you authorize, you'll be redirected back to SaneCost and the app will send a welcome message to your workspace. SaneCost will also appear in your Slack app list.

👋 Welcome to SaneCost! I'll help you find and stop idle AWS resources that are wasting money.

Get started:
1. Run /sanecost connect aws to link your AWS account
2. Run /sanecost config channel #aws-alerts to set where I post alerts
3. Run /sanecost status to check your setup

What's next? SaneCost is now installed in your workspace, but not yet connected to AWS. Follow the next guide to connect your AWS account via CloudFormation.
